For most, getting engaged is a once-in-a-lifetime occasion, and one Limerick hurler has gone all out to make sure that his proposal was a memorable one.
That Limerick hurler is one Kevin Downes, who many will remember as part of the 2018 panel that helped the team win the Liam McCarthy Cup after 45 years.
Kevin and his partner Grace headed to the South of France for a holiday, and little did she know that her beau had other plans.

Heading to the Pyrenees mountain range, which lies on the border of France and Spain, Kevin and Grace made their way to the top to catch the magnificent views of the sunset.
Getting down on one knee, the Limerick man popped the question. A delighted Grace agreed to marry her love, and they took a selfie to commemorate the moment, as the sun set in the background.
Sharing the news with their friends, family and followers on social media, they simply wrote: '08/06/2025'.

In one photo, Grace showed off her stunning engagement ring- a trinity cut piece with two dark diamonds on either side and a white stone in the middle.
Some well-known faces flocked to the comment section to congratulate the couple on their big announcement, including influencer Niamh de BrĂșn and Kerry GAA star Gavin Crowley's wife Chantelle.
Grace, who is a model, also received congratulatory messages from close pals in the fashion industry, such as Celia Holman Lee, who wrote 'Huge congratulations,' followed by a red love heart and engagement ring.
