A newly married couple's honeymoon soon turned into heartache when the groom was struck by lightning.
Jake Rosencranz and his wife Leah had tied the knot in 2023 but had only got around to booking their honeymoon this year.
Originally from Colorado, the pair made their way down to Florida to enjoy some quality time together.

Relaxing on New Smyrna Beach, Jake decided to cool himself down by dipping his feet in the water.
According to The Dailymail the 29-year-old was struck by lightning while standing in the water.
Medical services tried to resuscitate Jake at the scene, and he was brought to the nearest hospital. Unfortunately, Jake died later that evening from the injuries he sustained.

The Sunshine State is known as the lightning capital of the US, with the odds of being struck being one in a million.
Those who worked with Jake described him as 'a great friend and beloved colleague. We are heartbroken over this terrible loss.'
Since the incident, the family have launched a GoFundMe page to help with medical bills and to this point in time has raised €117,727
