Family will always come first for Dáithí Ó Sé and as for romance, well, his wife Rita Talty says the presenter is sweet in his little ways.
The couple first clapped eyes on one another when Rita represented New Jersey at the Rose of Tralee festival in 2008. After a few conversations over social media and a couple of trips between Ireland and America, by 2010 they were an item.
Once their romance was in motion it didn't take Dáithí long to realise she was the one and he popped the question the following year with their wedding taking place in 2012- as they say 'when you know, you know.'

Now nearly 15 years later, Rita told EVOKE that the romance is still alive and spilled on what it is like to be married to one of Ireland's most popular presenters.
'He's very sweet, he'll always get a card. We're not into gifts, we usually give each other scratch cards or something along those lines,' she said.

Rita, like many women, appreciates the little things. She said: 'It's the little things he does. When he brings me a coffee and I don't ask him to, or because I'm celiac, if he sees something gluten-free that he thinks I might like he'll grab it.
'I find there are no big gestures, but it's the little things he does and that is what is important. '
This Valentine's Day, the couple doesn't have anything planned but they may pop out for dinner and there will be another Ó Sé in the house as Dáithí's mum is coming to visit- a lady Rita says is very funny.
For the Ó Sé family, it is all about spending quality time together rather than romantic weekends away or candlelight dinners. When asked what is the most romantic item or event that Dáithí has taken her to she says a football match!

'The most romantic thing (he does) is bring me to Kerry matches each weekend... but I love it. It's our family time together with Oige,' Rita said.
While the couple has been going strong for over a decade Rita does find herself having to share her man with many others around the country.
When asked what it is like to be married to one of the most popular presenters in the country, she says: 'I don't even think of that. I think he goes to work during the day and he could be working in an office nine to five. It doesn't click for me that he is that person until we're out and about and people are coming up to him.'
But no matter what time or who comes to say hello, Rita loves the way her husband has time for everyone and shows them kindness no matter what.
'It is nice to see older people interacting with him because he has such a kind way about him that he makes them feel so special and he is genuine when talking to them,' Rita said. 'He gives them that time and has a little chat with them. You can see how happy he is and how it makes them feel... and it's not put on, that's just the way he is.'
