Here we go! The polls have opened across Ireland and Simon Harris was among the first to cast his vote in the general election.
Simon and his wife Caoimhe, who works as a nurse, took their children Saoirse, five, and Cillian, three, along with them to vote on Friday.
Pictures show the youngsters walking alongside their parents at the polling station and in their arms as they headed back home for what is sure to be a busy day.

Other snaps show Saoirse dropping her dad’s ballot into the box and Cillian holding onto his mum's ballot while they smile for the cameras.
It’s not the first time Saoirse has been out on the trail with her dad as she also went along with him in the 2020 election when she was only one.

Simon’s children were responsible for folding up his pamphlets as he prepared to go canvassing and they also joined him as he went door-to-door in his Greystones constituency to speak to voters.
His family has rallied behind him in his campaigning and only recently Simon shared a photo of Saoirse keeping him company as he went through leaflets at home.
Simon isn’t the stereotypical TD in that he is the first member of his family to go into politics, with his mum working as a special needs assistant and his dad a self-employed taxi driver.
The general election comes days after Simon had to apologise for a 'harsh' exchange with a disability worker in Kanturk in Cork.
Polls for the general election opened at 7am on Friday morning and close at 10pm.
