So much for a chill weekend... Dublin’s biggest FREE family festival has other plans! Swellfest has just landed and it’s packing more energy than a double espresso.
This fantastic festival that’s set to keep everyone in the fam entertained, is set to take over the historic Mountjoy Square Park on Saturday, September 13th from 12 to 6pm, and this year it’s got Olympic sparkle.
Leading the charge is none other than Ireland’s golden gymnast and Dancing with the Stars champion, Rhys McClenaghan, who will be dazzling the crowd with a masterclass that’s guaranteed to leave jaws on the floor and kids dreaming of cartwheels.

But Rhys isn’t the only one bringing the buzz. Comedy queen Enya Martin (Giz a Laugh) and sports broadcaster Luke Delany will keep the laughs, cheers, and momentum flowing as hosts of the day.
Across the park, families can dive into a whirlwind of sports, wellness, and creativity.
Think football, rugby, climbing walls, boxing demos, yoga under the open sky, dance-offs to Afrobeats - and even a family rave that’s bound to get little feet moving!

For mini adventurers, there’s a dedicated Little Fit Zone packed with kid-friendly activities, while art lovers can flex their creative side with mindfulness workshops led by the Hugh Lane Gallery.
And for anyone needing a calmer moment, sound baths and meditation sessions promise a slice of zen amid the action.
The festival isn’t just about fun, it’s about celebrating community spirit, wellness, and the joy of trying something new.

Lord Mayor Ray McAdam praised the event for bringing Dubliners together in such a vibrant way, while Jim Gavin of the NEIC hailed it as a powerful showcase of local clubs and talent.
So whether you’re chasing thrills, craving a health reset, or simply looking for the ultimate family day out, Swellfest is the place to be.
And best of all? It’s completely free!
