Eamonn Holmes has landed himself in a firestorm after using a racial slur on live TV while chatting to Kerry Katona.
The TV personality looked shocked as the host made the offensive comment while discussing her looks during an appearance on GB News
The drama unfolded while she chatted to Eamonn and co-host Ellie Costello about her cosmetic work and intensified after he seemingly doubled down on his words by being put out by being told to apologise.
Kerry chatted to the hosts about how she feels about her facelift a year on, with Eamonn rudely asking her if she was happy with her eyes.
As she tried to explain why she wanted to get them done, saying, 'I had them done over a year ago now. You know, all it was I could... it was making my eyes feel a bit heavy, so I had an uplift,' he abruptly cut her off to pass judgment on them.
'And you don't look Oriental or anything, do you?' he demanded to know. Kerry was understandably shocked by his choice of language, and Eamonn was later told to apologise, but did so grudgingly.
'Apparently, you're not allowed to describe someone as looking Oriental or... I don't know how I would end up describing Kerry Katona if her eyes changed shape.
'I don't know how I'm going to say does she look like someone from some other country in the Eastern of the world...
'The world is ridiculous. How you have to apologise for people... if she painted herself or... I don't know I can get into this. But anyway. '
It was at that point that a mortified-looking Ellie tried to calm things down, saying: 'But Kerry looks beautiful.'
'Kerry looks well. I'm sorry if you don't look well or if we have offended you in any way or... Oh, I don't know.'
The incident comes after Emaonn suffered a nasty fall at the start of summer, amid his ongoing health crisis.
