RTÉ's Claire Byrne is not afraid of hard work, and when it comes to tackling different topics, be it the war in Gaza or chatting about the latest TikTok trend, there is no better presenter.
The Laois native, it seems, has always been destined for a life in media with her career beginning in radio and stretching to host of different positions from the BBC, Ireland AM, and finally reaching the 'holy grail,' her own show at the country's national broadcasting station RTÉ.
However, in recent years, the mum of three has taken a step back from her intense schedule to prioritise her family, but says to this day, people still get the wrong perception of her.

By 2022, Claire had not only her own show on the radio, but she also hosted Claire Byrne Live, which was popular all over the country, but for the presenter, her family life was beginning to suffer. Stepping back from her TV show, Claire says that the perception of a woman immersed in her career is still something that people associate with her.
Speaking to Kevin Dundon and Caoimhe Young on their podcast, Under the Grill, she said: 'I remember when we were getting our house done up a couple of years ago, the architect said "Well, how often will you be cooking?" And I said, "Every day." And he looked at me and went "Really?"'

Claire's family comes first, no matter what. 'I don't know how to get it across to you that what you see publicly probably isn't really me.
'Me' is feeding and minding, and nurturing. That's the most important thing. That's priority number one.'
Having a mum who is in the public eye certainly does not escape the notice of her three children, Patrick, Jane, and Emma, who have one show they would love to see their mum on... Dancing with the Stars.

While Claire admitted that she may have been approached in the past to take part, she says that not only is she too busy to be able to commit, but the fact that she can't dance may have an effect on her decision.
Laughing, she says: 'I would probably enjoy it too much and then I wouldn't be able to go back to normal life. Too much fun.'
