Irish rugby star Andrew Porter and his wife Elaine had a big surprise to start off the new year with a special announcement on social media on Monday.
The couple have announced that after much heartache last year, they are finally set to become parents when they welcome a baby later this year- and not only that, they've even revealed what they are having!
The proud dad-to-be shared a gorgeous photo of his glowing wife perched on his knee holding their precious ultrasound picture with the caption 'Halfway there baby boy... 2024 was a rollercoaster of a year after 2 miscarriages, but we are starting 2025 with the biggest blessing and cannot wait to meet him in a few months time.'

Not forgetting the sorrow they felt and the support they needed as they lost two pregnancies, Andrew and Elaine were sure to remember any other couple going through the same heartache.
'Sending love to anyone who has struggled with pregnancy at any stage, you’re not alone' they said.
Last summer, Andrew came out and said he was 'so proud' of Elaine after she spoke out about suffering a miscarriage.
While the couple were holidaying in Italy, the mum-to-be felt compelled to recount her own experiences after a quote from the incoming US Vice President JD Vance emerged criticising childless women.

Elaine re-shared a tweet from Jennifer Aniston, saying: 'As someone who has experienced a miscarriage this is absolutely disgusting, women are SO much more than their ability to give birth. Vile.'
We are so thrilled to hear Andrew and Elaine's news, and we wish them all the best!
