Peter Andre has subtly responded to the renewed attention around his past relationship with Katie Price, following her unexpected remarks about his current wife, Emily.
Earlier this month, Katie made headlines when she spoke openly about Emily during an appearance on Katherine Ryan’s What’s My Age Again? podcast.
Reflecting on how she and Peter used to function as a united family front, she contrasted that with Emily’s more private approach, stating, 'Emily doesn’t do all that for Pete. Me and Pete just did it all together as a family.'
Although Peter didn't directly address Katie's remarks, he shared his general perspective on navigating ex-related drama in his latest New! magazine column.
Referring to Zara McDermott’s ex-boyfriend Sam Thompson and current partner Louis Tomlinson both attending Soccer Aid, he said: 'People love to stir up drama when it comes to exes, but we rarely know the full story.'
'I’ve been part of Soccer Aid before, and from experience, people there focus on the cause, not personal histories. That’s exactly how it should be,' he added.
Peter and Katie's high-profile romance began in 2004 on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and they married a year later. However, they separated in 2009 and have not spoken since.
On the podcast, Katie also spoke about a conversation she had with their daughter, Princess, who struggled to picture her parents ever being a couple.
She told Katherine: 'She said, "You're so different from Emily. I can’t imagine you and Dad together." I told her, "Trust me, we had a laugh. We were together for six years."'
Despite her pointed comments about Peter’s current family life, Katie also showed a measure of grace, saying: 'I’m glad he’s with Emily.
'She seems like a proper lady. It’d be weird if he went for someone like me again.'
The former glamour model recently opened up about the real cause of their divorce on Paul C. Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast, putting long-standing rumors to rest.
She denied having an affair with her dressage trainer Andrew Gould- something she says Peter suspected: 'He was married.
'I just kept my horse there. But Pete kept accusing me, and one day I snapped and said, "Then just divorce me."'
Katie recalled being at the airport with their children en route to the Maldives when the news broke: 'It was all over Sky News.
'I didn’t want to split, but Pete made that call. We’ve never sat down and talked about it- not once. It’s all gone through lawyers.'
