Greg O'Shea and Jeanni Mulder have a modern relationship but have proved that their old school romance is one for the ages.
Not like most modern romances that start on a dating sit, the fitness influencer was hyped up to his girlfriend-to-be by some Irish girls that he had never met before and has never come across since.
Things escalated quickly between Greg and Jeanni, and they're now as close as can be, supporting each other's endeavours, getting engaged on New Year's Eve, and now tying the knot. Here's everything we know about the lovebirds' romance:
How they met
Greg and Jeanni first met two years ago in 2022. She had been solo travelling in Bali when she encountered a group of Irish girls.
Per Greg's recollection, Jeanni and the girls had been chatting about how they couldn't find any decent men, which he noted is a 'fair enough' statement.
Speaking to EVOKE as a brand ambassador for WHOOP, Greg said: 'The Irish girls said that they heard me on a podcast and that Jeanni should message me because we're both quote-unquote cringy. So I'm cringy according to Irish women, and Jeanni's cringy as well. She slid into my DMs.'
Greg said 'the funniest part' of their story was that Jeanni ended up sliding into his hidden requests, 'where all the bots go'.
'I obviously thought she was catfishing me at the start,' Greg joked. 'She got me on WhatsApp then, and then FaceTimed me, and then she ended up flying to Dublin.'
And the rest, as they say, is history, as Greg noted: 'Two years later, she lives with me!'
Their first date
Greg and Jeanni were clearly head over heels for one another and wasted no time in heading out on their first date when she jetted into Ireland.
The couple went to House on Leeson Street, as Greg recalled: 'I booked a table and I was already sitting there and she went for a few drinks with a friend that she met in Bali and she came flying in like an F1 car and nearly knocked me over with a hug because she was so nervous or excited.'
'She immediately slagged my haircut as well and I was like well "It's nice to meet you too". I've never let her live that down since.'
The following day the pair hit up Forbidden Fruit together!
Meeting the in-laws
Greg introduced Jeanni to the O'Shea family pretty early on after she jetted to Ireland.
The couple have been on a number of family holidays together from a lavish skiing trip and the 2024 Olympics to Jeanni being his plus one at his sister's wedding in Portugal.
The former Love Island star flew to Jeanni's native South Africa in May to meet her parents for the first time and they spent the 2024 festive period with them as well.
Getting engaged
Greg got down on bended knee and popped the question to Jeanni in a romantic moment at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve.
A clip shows the couple counting down to 2025 when they reach 'one' and Greg pulls back to get down on one knee.
Sharing sweet photos with Jeanni as she displayed her engagement ring, he wrote: 'Grew up worlds apart and now spending the rest of our lives together.'
They're each other's biggest fans
Greg and Jeanni are both very into their health and fitness and support each other through marathons, Ironman events, and HYROX events.
In August, Greg shared snaps of himself looking rightly delighted after completing his first ultra as he threw his arms in the air in celebration and leaned into Jeanni for a kiss.
While Greg was competing Jeanni also kept active, going for a run herself and tracking her boyfriend's partner on her phone.
Wedding plans
Greg and Jeanni only got engaged at the turn of the New Year, but it appears wedding plans are well and truly underway as Greg revealed they're to be married within the next year.
When chatting to RVSP magazine, the sports star said that he and Jeanni were planning one wedding here in Ireland and one wedding in South Africa.
'This will be the first celebration of my immediate family and her immediate family in one space,' Greg said.
Tying the knot
And it looks like their intimate Irish ceremony has already happened, keeping their circle small and having close family and friends celebrate with them at a get-together in House Dublin on Monday, October 6.
The couple said 'I do' in a legal ceremony in Dublin, saying their ceremony was 'intimate, emotional, and exactly what we wanted.' Congratulations!
