Dancing With The Stars contestant and TikTok star Miriam Mullins has attitude in spades - and it came early to the star.
Quietly confident, the Cork native made her first TV appearance when she was just ten years old on RTE.
She recalls: 'Sattitude was presented by Sinead Kennedy and Brian Ormond and was on TV every Saturday morning.
‘I applied to be on it and I knew the minute I did that show that broadcasting and TV presenting or something along those lines was what I wanted to do. '
That experience was the catalyst for her decision to pursue a degree in Creative Digital Media in MTU.
Her next national big break came in 2021 when she made history appearing on the Late Late Show.
'I was the first TikTok person to be ever on it and had a lovely interview with Ryan Tubridy. It was after that things really took a turning point in my career and I just enjoyed it so much.'

Growing up in east Cork, social media star Miriam admits she wasn’t always so glamorous.
'It was a mixed primary school and I was a tomboy growing up. Then when I went into secondary school I went to an all girls Catholic school which I actually really enjoyed considering the fact I was very tomboy.’
And while she was undoubtedly excited to make her Dancing With The Stars debut this year, Miriam admits it wasn't her first attempt.
'I actually was approached in 2023 to do the show but the producers felt I wasn’t ready and then in 2024 I had fire in my belly and knew I wanted to do it.

‘So my manager at the time and I reached out to the production, I went for a chat with the team and 2 weeks later I found out I was one of the contestants on the show!’
So what was the highlight of her career so far?
‘Definitely the day I got the call to do Dancing With The Stars and when I got to go to Paris fashion week with L’Oréal,’ she says.
‘Meeting all the people involved - there’s some great connections made from a show like that and just every Sunday was such a buzz. It was a feeling you can’t explain.'

But there’s plenty more she wants to achieve. She adds: 'I would love to start my own brand or do a collaboration with a brand and I would also love to get a TV presenting role.’
Miriam’s advice for other broadcasters starting out is to be consistent, and to learn from rejection.
‘Knocks and rejections will come but they are good because you will learn loads of lessons and it teaches you to do even better the next time and to strive for more.’
While it’s clear the star loves glam fashion, she also has a thing for comfy wear - as evidenced by her current wardrobe staple.

'I bought a big fluffy men’s coat and I genuinely can’t take it off. It’s so, so cozy and matches everything!’
Although her response was more extreme than most when questioned about her biggest fashion mishap…
‘Just before I was about to go on TV last year my outfit caught fire from a candle.
‘I was reaching over to get something and the sleeve of my jacket went on fire. Thank god I caught it in time!'
It seems likely this determined Cork native will be setting our screens alight in other ways for quite some time to come.

Have Yourself a Very Berry Christmas
Red can be a notoriously hard colour to pull off. But given red is the unofficial colour of December, being bombarded by every shade from raging red to subdued berry is unavoidable. Bright red can look divine on both very pale and darker skin tones. But if, like me, you're a skin-betweener then red can be a hard shade to master.
However with so many shades of red incorporated into fashion there is an abundance of choice.
Red tints which lean into pinks are the most versatile. Then there are the deeper reds which border on burgundy.
Warm reds, as expected, look best on those with warm skin tones while cool reds look best on with cool skin tones. And don’t forget a splash of red lipstick to give your look a dash of that festive spirit.

Sequins of events
Say it with sequins this party season. Whether you’re partial to just a sprinkle of sparkle or prefer a more tinsel and bauble all-over glittery affair, nothing says fabulous festive fun quite like sequins.
Sequins are no longer reserved for sparkly dresses as designers have remained and incorporated sequin into everyday wear - including structured blazers, trousers, as well as shirts and T-shirts that can be layered up.
If you’re the understated type then style sequins subtly. A sequin top under a blazer or simple knit sweater with subtle sequin will add a dash of Christmas spirit to your festive style.
Or you could always opt for a shimmering skirt or palazzo trousers for a pared-back sparkle style. Muted tones like champagne, silver or gold can help you shimmer into Christmas without looking like a decoration.
For a more opulent look - emerald green and midnight blue are solid choices to exude luxury.
If you're a full-on glamour gal then embrace your inner Christmas fairy with bright reds and green in a full length dress or trouser sequin suit for that striking sequin effect.

Baby it's cold outside
While it’s the season to be merry, it's also pretty frosty outside.
So while it may be desirable to rock up to the Christmas party in a knockout dress you also don't want to arrive like Rudolph, shivering from head to toe.
The duffle coat has had a very stylish reinvention. No longer reserved for school days, it’s my go-to this winter. The oversized buttons and cape hood makes for drop-dead gorgeous cosiness.
And a biker leather or pleather jacket is perhaps the most versatile item of clothing one can own - taking you from day to night in super chic style.
