Laura Whitmore reveals school bullies made her self-conscious about her body

Laura Whitmore has opened up about being bullied in school.

The Bray native, who will step in to host Winter Love Island later this month, has revealed bullies tormented her over being too 'small' and 'skinny.'

Branding her 'Skinny mini Laura' for her height and frame, Laura told the Sun all she wanted as a teen was 'curves and boobs.'

'Then you get to your twenties and suddenly you have got these big boobs and big arse and I'm like, 'Why was I complaining?'' she said.

Laura told the publication that despite growing into her body, there are still things she would like to change about her appearance from her legs to her bum and her nose.

'I could be 7ft tall and I'd still love longer legs,' she said. 'I don't like my bum, as it's too big. Or my nose because it's too small. It's like a child's nose.'

However, the former MTV star has no desire to go under the knife just yet having seen some horror stories over the years, although maybe she'll reconsider 'in ten years.'

Laura will step in to host the winter series of Love Island direct from Cape Town this month following Caroline Flack stepping down from the role last December.

The broadcaster, who has been at the helm of the popular dating show for years, stood down from the position after being charged with assault.

Laura announced her new role by posting a photo of the famous Love Island water bottles on social media along with a thoughtful message acknowledging her friend Caroline Flack.

'I want to thank ITV for trusting me at the helm of this huge show. I wish it was in better circumstances; Caroline is a brilliant host and friend,' she said.

'We’ve spoken a lot in the last few days since she stepped down. She has been very kind to me and strongly pushed me for this role.'

'I’ve watched her host every series and know I have big boots to fill. I will try and do it justice.'

Winter Love Island kicks off Sunday 12th January.
