It's become part of our Late Late Toy Show ritual to trot down to our local Penneys and pick up jammies, cosy socks, and mugs for the whole family.
Unfortunately, we're now facing the end of an era as after ten years, the commercial partnership between Penneys and RTÉ's Toy Show will not go ahead this year.
The high street retailer said the partnership was 'paused' because the 'Penneys ordering deadline for the Late Late Toy Show pyjamas coincided with the initial conversations with RTÉ Investigates'.

Meanwhile, RTÉ said the commercial partnership would 'not go ahead this year for a number of reasons'.
The statement was provided to RTÉ Investigates after its investigation into Bangladeshi factories that supplied to major Irish retailers, including Penneys, an episode that aired on September 24.

The retailer told RTÉ Investigates: 'There is no suggestion of any link between the [Toy Show] range and the questions raised in the programme,' adding that it was 'very proud' and 'looked forward to revisiting the partnership next year'.
The commercial partnership between Penneys and the Late Late Toy Show saw the retailer make substantial donations to the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal.

In 2024, Penneys donated €100,000 to the Appeal, and in 2020, the brand teamed up with Barnardos and children's hospitals to donate over 50,000 pairs of Toy Show jammies.
