There is, in fact, a very reasonable explanation for Sutton's avoidance of such events, with a source telling New Idea that she 'is still nervous about taking that big step into Hugh's world.'
Despite being a celebrated Broadway actress herself, it appears that stepping out with Hugh might prove too much for Sutton.
However, things are likely to change for the couple, as Hugh is reportedly hoping that his love will accompany him on the carpet for the premiere of his new movie, Song Sung Blue, at the AFI Fest in Hollywood on October 26.
'It's a big moment for him, and he wants to share it with the woman he loves,' the source told the outlet.
However, the pair had appeared together on carpets before their relationship was revealed to the public. A source close to Hugh previously revealed that the Wolverine star is planning to marry Sutton.
'Hugh had a lot of back and forth while he was in Australia for the holidays, but ultimately, he realised how much he missed her,' an insider told Sky News.
'The magic came flooding back when they reunited, and ultimately, marriage is the endgame for these two. Hugh is clear he wants to make Sutton his wife.'
