Robinson is in policy custody, but a motive still remains unclear. Now, officials have shared further information that could provide insight: the bullets that killed Kirk were allegedly engraved with anti-fascist messages.

At a press conference on Friday, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said that an inscription found on the bullet casing fired at Kirk read 'notices, bulges, OwO, what's this?'

Per PEOPLE, engravings on unspent casings, found with the .30-06 Mauser rifle discovered in the woods near Utah Valley University - where the shooting took place - read: 'Hey fascist, catch' followed by an up arrow, right arrow, and three down arrows.

'I think that speaks for itself,' Cox said of the inscription when asked about the motive.

Another inscription read 'O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao, ciao ciao', a possible reference to a World War II-era Italian anti-fascist folk song, and another read 'If you read this you are gay lmao'.

Cox alleged that Robinson, over a recent family dinner, discussed Kirk's upcoming visit to UVU and was vocal about his dislike of the activist.

The 22-year-old's roommate is also alleged to have shown authorities a joke from a Discord account associated with him, that said: 'I need to retrieve a rifle from a drop point.'

Robinson, 22, was arrested after a 33-hour manhunt. He allegedly confessed, or implied a confession, to his father, Matt Robinson, who is a member of law enforcement.

Officials said his father then contacted a family friend, who informed the sheriff's office. The 22-year-old has been booked into the Utah County Jail.

Robinson is believed to have fired from the roof of a building 200 yards away from the 'American Comeback Tour' event Kirk had been speaking at on September 10 when he was fatally shot.

It's been reported that surveillance footage shows a man then fleeing the scene, running away and jumping down from the roof before escaping into a nearby neighbourhood
