Childhood best friends Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have teamed up once again for a new movie that will be released on Netflix early next year.
The Oscar-winning duo have known each other since the ages of eight and 10 when they met growing up in Boston and both went on to achieve Hollywood stardom.
They have appeared alongside each other in some iconic films over the years including 90s flicks Dogma and Good Will Hunting - the movie that won them a joint Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 1998.

Now, the duo will reunite for a gripping crime thriller, titled THE RIP, which is inspired by true events and will drop on Netflix on January 16, 2026.
Matt and Ben will co-star in the film which is written and directed by Joe Carnahan and it will be produced by the pair's joint production company, Artists Equity.

The synopsis for the movie reads: 'Upon discovering millions in cash in a derelict stash house, trust among a team of Miami cops begins to fray. As outside forces learn about the size of the seizure, everything is called into question - including who they can rely on.'
The still from film released by Netflix shows Matt Damon as Lieutenant Dane Dumars wearing a police uniform with Ben in a black hoodie as Det Sergeant JD Byrne.

RIP will also star actors; Teyana Taylor, Steven Yeun, Sasha Calle, Catalina Sandino, Néstor Carbonell and Kyle Chandler.
Ben teased the film as he spoke on stage at the 2025 Next on Netflix Special Presentation event in Los Angeles this week, saying that the movie is going for a mix of Heat meets Narc meets Training Day.

He said: 'This movie takes a look at the things people will do for money,' People magazine reported. '[It's a] really fun, engaging ride that keeps you guessing. It’s a compelling, complicated human drama that also hues to these elements of cinema that people have loved forever.'
We can't wait for this one!
