Muireann O'Connell has essentially ruled out having any type of wedding ceremony in the future, despite being loved up with her fiancé of four years.
The Virgin Media host says she doesn't have any urge to tie the knot with her longtime love, revealing that the whole planning aspect that goes into getting married simply isn't something that appeals to her.
While Muireann respects anyone brave enough to take on the task, she can't see herself walking down the aisle in a white dress. The Limerick lady has tried to come around to the idea of being a bride, but to no avail.

'It sounds like such a horrible job that it just sounds like a job,' Muireann admitted. 'I wish I had the wedding thing in me, but I genuinely can't find it. I'm shallow as a puddle, but the wedding thing... I can't find it there!'
The 42-year-old even turned down the idea of doing a quick signing of papers in City Hall, jokingly saying: 'That would involve a level of thinking about it.'
Muireann even laughed that she would most likely end up doing it illegally by mistake, as even filling out the form would be too much work for the pair.

'I'll probably end up doing it illegally, because you have to put in some form beforehand, and I won't do that,' she laughed. 'It will be done on a whim.'
'I genuinely haven't thought about it at all,' she added. While the Ireland AM presenter and her finacé, who she lovingly refers to as her ‘housemate’, announced their engagement all the way back in 2021, she prefers to keep him out of the spotlight.
Muireann's co-stars Tommy Bowe and Alan Hughes revealed that they are just as excited to hear any update in Muireann's plans as their audience is, joking that 'they are dying to know' as much as everyone else.

The tight-knit presenters explained that they act like brothers to Muireann and tend to rally around her when critics send nasty messages about her on social media. Though Alan Hughes revealed in the past, there have been some Ireland AM co-presenters he has not got along with,
'It's very sad to say, but I do think women probably do get it more online,' Alan said. 'Muireann does get it more than we do, and we're always there for her, trying to calm her down, telling her it's grand.'

Muireann added that she is happy to share as much of her life as possible despite the critics, as she feels she owes it to the audience.
'We are so lucky that the people who choose to turn their show on in the morning kind of want to keep that relationship going. It sounds corny, but it's probably the privilege of my life to share that with people.'
