Eric Roberts and his wife Niamh have won thousands of followers for their funny videos, but just how did the duo cross paths almost two decades ago?
While Eric might be the main face of his social channels, it's teacher Niamh who he credits as being the 'brains' behind the operation and as it turns out, they actually first met through a love of performing.
The couple had quite the start to 2025, welcoming their son on New Year's Day, and now Eric has joined the hosting line-up on Ireland AM.
Here's how the influencer-turned-presenter met his wonderful wife, Niamh. Trust us, it's a sweet story!
How they met

Eric and Niamh have a dance teacher to thank for crossing paths almost two decades ago. Sharing their story with EVOKE previously, Eric recalled: 'We met close to 20 years ago now. I was in transition year and a woman came in to teach a dance workshop in my secondary school. Hip hop dancing wasn't really the norm where I was from, it was more football and lads, lads, lads.
'But she seemed to think I had a bit of a hidden talent so she asked me to come up to a class that she taught in Letterkenny. I reluctantly agreed, and I roped in a few of the other boys.

'It was a class full of 20 girls and there were three or four of us lads, which we thought was great at the time. I spotted Niamh straight away and after a bit of flirting on Bebo we ended up sharing our first kiss at one of the dance competitions.'
Eric sweetly continued: 'I don't think a week has gone by since where we haven't really spoken. We were kind of on and off growing up, as you do, and we both went off traveling but we always came back to each other.
'I think we always secretly knew we were going to end up together at some stage or another, but over the course of that nearly two decades we were always in touch and we've always been in each other's lives.
'So it was sort of inevitable, I think. It's a real childhood to adulthood story.'
Popping the question

Fast forward a few years, and Eric decided it was time to pop the question and ask Niamh to be his wife while they were on holiday in Santorini.
He said: 'I proposed on one of the boat tours where you can swim in the volcanic sea. We didn't want to do the boat tour again [when we went back for our first wedding anniversary] because I got very seasick after the proposal!'
Saying 'I do'

Eric and Niamh tied the knot at Harvey's Point in Donegal in August 2023 with the bride looking stunning in a square-neck gown with long sleeves and a fitted skirt.
The groom also looked dapper on their big day, wearing a black tux with a bowtie. Eric managed to surprise Niamh on the night by arranging for Irish act Chasing Abbey to perform - very cool!
Growing their family
Eric and Niamh announced they were expecting in 2024 by sharing a sweet video of themselves holding their scan pictures. 'I knew all these Dad jokes would come in handy one day,' Eric wrote in the caption.
They decided not to find out their little one's gender, with Eric telling EVOKE: 'We could have found out and I was kind of looking at the scan thinking, “Jesus, it must be a boy”, but apparently that was the umbilical cord I was looking at. No, we’re going to keep it a surprise.
'You don’t get very many of these sort of surprises so we agreed that we’ll wait and see. We’re already throwing around baby names and we’re having a lot of fun with it, but it’ll be all neutral colours for now.'

On New Year's Day 2025, their son was born with the couple choosing a very sweet name with a lovely connection to one of their family members.
Eric and Niamh's son's name is Rían which is believed to have connections to the old Irish word for water. Very fittingly however their son's middle name is Óisin, like Eric's nephew.
Celebrating milestones

In March 2025, Eric and Niamh pulled out all the stops to celebrate Rían's Christening Day with their loved ones.
His mam also pushed the boat out for the Christening, in typical Irish granny fashion. 'I told mum not to make a big deal of it, and she has booked a photographer to come to the house to take pictures of everyone,' the social media star joked. 'It's giving Kris Jenner, mum.'
Months later, in August 2025, Eric and Niamh marked their second wedding anniversary- how time has flown for the lovebirds!
Moving their family to Dublin

In September 2025, it was revealed that Eric will be joining the Ireland AM hosting team and working alongside Elaine Crowley and Martin King on the show.
Eric and Niamh are based in Donegal with Rían and are currently building their home, so him taking a job based in Dublin was quite the decision.

‘I didn't say yes right away because obviously it's a life-changing decision, so I spoke to Niamh about it at length and we realised it's just too much of an amazing opportunity,' Eric said. 'I just said "what am I doing everything online for the last couple of years if not to jump at this with two hands?"'
He continued: 'I'm really excited for the opportunity and nervous, terrified, but the guys [at Ireland AM] have looked after me… they’ve made me very, very comfortable and I feel like I've been doing it for ages now, so I'm excited to get going.'
Eric and his family will now relocate to Dublin for the forseable so he can work on the show - exciting times ahead!
