A new adaptation of Wuthering Heights has been slammed as 'softcore porn' after the release of a raunchy trailer.
Fans of Emily Brontë said the author would be 'spinning in her grave' at the bondage scenes in the latest interpretation of her 200-year-old novel.
Director Emerald Fennell is said to lean into the 'stylised depravity' she became known for with her 2023 hit Saltburn.

The trailer, set to Charli XCX's track Everything Is Romantic, shows Margot Robbie as Catherine Earnshaw, who has a torrid affair with Heathcliff, played by Jacob Elordi. A younger Heathcliff will be played by the 15-yearold Adolescence actor Owen Cooper.
In one clip, Robbie daydreams about half-naked adult Heathcliff on all fours with his back covered with sweat.
In another scene, the Australian actress is seen gasping as her corset is aggressively tightened by a maid, which is spliced with close-ups of chewed lips, blindfolds, whips and restraints.
Heathcliff asks her in another clip: 'Do you want me to stop?' Cathy breathlessly replies: 'No.'
The film will be released on Valentine's Day next year.
