Travis Kelce has revealed the way he originally wanted to propose to fiancée Taylor Swift, and we were not ready for it!
Chatting to his brother and co-podcast host Jason Kelce on their show New Heights, the Kansas City Chiefs star admitted he had other plans before settling on his stunning proposal venue.
Just a week since the couple announced their engagement, Travis shared he had another location in mind, and let's just say we're sure florists everywhere are delighted he didn't go with this option!
Travis' original plan was to propose to Taylor on water but his podcast producer 'Intern Brendan' talked him out of the idea.
Brendan told Travis of the struggle he had proposing in water and he advised him to perhaps play out the intimate moment on land. 'My head was bobbing up in the water, holding the ring while kicking your little feet to fight the current. Don't recommend it. Travis did it on land. Much safer,' Brendan joked.
Travis heeded his warnings and changed his mind. 'I got warned, I got warned. I once thought I would do it on water but you did it. You showed heart,' he replied to the podcast producer.
Ever the jokester, Jason chimed in to joke about the critical differences between the two proposal plans.
'You thought you'd do it on water. He did it in water!', Jason said. Travis couldn't help but look giddy throughout the podcast, clearly still relishing that newly engaged bubble.
The couple made their first engagement debut just this week, at an American College Football game, where Travis said it still felt 'giddy' introducing Taylor as his fiancée.
'Yeah, I felt that at the game, it was the first time I introduced Taylor as my fiancée to my teammates, it was pretty cool.
'I still get giddy, it's exciting times. It is still fresh. It has been so much fun hearing from everybody and seeing the internet go crazy.'
Travis went on to thank everyone for their well-wishes, saying he was still trying to take in everyone's excitement for the happy couple.
'I appreciate everybody who has reached out and sent something, all the posts and excitement and it has been really fun telling everybody who I'm going to be spending the rest of my life with,' he said.
Travis added: 'It has been really fun. It has been awesome.'
Who knows what way the original proposal would have turned out, but we sure are glad they decided to do it on land!
