Singer Rachel Stevens has separated from her American professional skater boyfriend, Brendyn Hatfield, after being together for over two and a half years.
Sources close to the pair have said that Rachel and Brendyn felt there was 'no way forward' with each other after they had been facing difficulties and struggled to reconcile after they had drifted apart.
A friend of the couple told the Irish Sun: 'It is incredibly sad and a relatively recent thing.'
Although the pair had gone quiet with each other on social media, reports say there is 'still a lot of affection there and there are no regrets'.
The couple both have children from past relationships- Rachel has her two daughters, Amelie and Millie with her ex-husband Alex Bourne, and Brendyn has a son. Both the singer and professional skater have said they struggled running the blended family, with tensions becoming too much for the family.
Brendyn is said to have moved out of the family home, with the source saying: 'They don't ever want to row in front of their kids, who remain their priority. It is heartbreaking but Rachel and Brendyn hope to maintain a friendship.'
The pair first met on Dancing On Ice in 2022 when Rachel was coupled up with Brendyn for the series. Although the two did not win the series, their love was the real prize.
Their relationship came just months after Rachel had separated from her ex Alex, an estate agent, just a few months shy of their 13-year anniversary.
The news of Rachel and Brendyn's split comes as a shock for many fans after the singer was on her social media a few months ago calling Brendyn her soulmate.
Both Rachel and Brendyn still follow each other online and look like they are keeping things civil for the moment.
