A Strictly Come Dancing star has been arrested on suspicion of rape and drug-related offences. The famous man was arrested on Friday in East London.

The star, who has not been named, was also detained over a separate alleged offence of 'non-consensual intimate image abuse.' The male, who is in his thirties, was arrested after a third party made allegations of 'sexual and drug-related offences.'

The BBC are not willing to comment on the situation as of now. A spokesperson for the broadcaster said: 'It would not be appropriate to comment on an ongoing police investigation.'

A statement from the Metropolitan Police said: 'On Friday 22 August, officers arrested a man in his 30s in east London on suspicion of rape and non-consensual intimate image abuse.

'This is a joint investigation with Hertfordshire Constabulary. While the investigation is in its early stages, we urge anyone with information to come forward, quoting 8479/22AUG.

'Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or by submitting an online form.'

'The arrest follows a third-party allegation of sexual and drug-related offences. Enquiries are ongoing.'

The news comes as another blow to the reality show, which was under review in 2024 after Amanda Abbington made allegations against her former dance partner, Giovanni Pernice, claiming he bullied and harassed her.

More recently, news emerged that the broadcaster had called in 'external lawyers' over claims that two people involved in the dance show had taken cocaine.

The claims were made in a legal submission to the BBC in March, and it's understood that there have been further claims of drug taking on the show.
