FND is a condition that affects the way the brain and nervous system work, leading to a range of neurological symptoms such as limb weakness, paralysis, seizures, walking difficulties, spasms, sensory issues, and cognitive problems.

Lisa recorded a simple video to update her followers, who she says have been sending her a ‘completely overwhelming’ level of love and support, something she’s very grateful to have received.

‘The last 7 weeks has been a compete rollercoaster and every emotion under the sun has happened in that time,’ Lisa said before adding: ’It's been incredibly tough, I'm not going to lie, it's been very, very tough, but it's also been a massive wake up call, for me especially.’

Lisa continued: ‘The last few years, especially, have been very, very stressful. For me, trying to be a mum and also trying to have a career as well as that, and there have been a lot of stressful times and periods over the last few years, but I suppose none more so than the last year since Hallie was born.’

Lisa and her husband Nathan’s daughter Hallie arrived in July 2024 but has struggled with her health, being admitted to the hospital multiple times.

’That has to have been the most stressful period of my life and we never really took the time to fully process what had been going on, we just kept powering on,’ Lisa said. ‘I think now I’ve really realised the reason this whole thing [her diagnosis] has happened is due to stress.

'My nervous system is just having a complete overload, and it’s a way of my body saying “no, this is not the way you’re living now, it’s not healthy for your body, and it’s not sustainable”. My body has just completely burnt out, and I need to completely reset the way I've lived in my life from here on in.'

Lisa is now working on her recovery, looking at everything from her mindset to her emotions, nutrition, sleep, and exercise, but said that the main thing will be working out a new ‘work-life balance’

‘I don’t know how long it’s going to take, but I do know that I’m 100 per cent going to make a full recovery because I fully believe that I have the ability to do that and I will do that. I just don't know how long it's going to take, so I'm just going to have to have patience,’ Lisa said.

Finishing her video message, Lisa again thanked her fans for their support not only during her health battle but throughout her career so far.

It is because of this love Lisa has always felt online that she’s made the decision to return to social media and start to share what her recovery looks like.

‘The well wishes and encouragement is exactly the positive energy that I need around me and that my family needs at the moment,’ Lisa said.

Lisa’s fans were delighted to see her back on Instagram, with many saying they’ll be behind her all the way. One person wrote: ‘Love your positivity Lisa and I’ve no doubt you will make a speedy recovery.'

‘My heart goes out to you Lisa… keep getting better and hopefully see you soon… have been thinking of you. Stay strong and you will get through this,’ added another person.
