Netflix’s hit teen drama My Life with the Walter Boys is returning this summer with a brand-new season- and the drama at the Walter ranch is about to get even messier.
The series follows Jackie (Nikki Rodriguez), a 15-year-old who loses her parents and sister in a tragic accident and relocates from New York City to the small town of Silver Falls, Colorado.
Taken in by her late mother’s best friend Katherine Walter (Sarah Rafferty), Jackie suddenly finds herself adjusting to country life with Katherine’s seven sons and daughter.
Central to the story is her complicated connection with two of the Walter brothers, Alex (Ashby Gentry) and Cole (Noah LaLonde), which sparks a love triangle that drives much of the show’s tension.
The show is adapted from Ali Novak’s 2010 Wattpad hit of the same name, which was later published by Sourcebooks Fire in 2014.
When is season 2 coming out?
Filming wrapped in Calgary, Canada in late 2024, and the cast began teasing behind-the-scenes snaps early this year. Ashby posted a photo of himself and co-star Noah loading hay bales into a truck, writing: ‘i can’t tell you how many bales of hay i loaded onto that truck. SZN 2 OTW.'
On August 5, 2025, Netflix dropped the official trailer- and soon after, Nikki confirmed the release date in an Instagram caption that read: ‘Season 2 August 28th’.
What’s happening in season 2?
Season one ended with Jackie leaving Colorado after breaking things off with Alex and sharing a kiss with Cole. Season two picks up with her return to the ranch after a summer in New York, where she’s forced to navigate her strained relationships with both brothers.
Alex is now training for a major rodeo and facing attention from someone new, while Cole, determined to prove himself, decides to pursue college. Jackie, meanwhile, struggles to maintain boundaries with both while also fighting to keep her bond with the Walter family intact.
Although Novak recently released a sequel novel, My Return to the Walter Boys (April 2025), the new episodes will take their own direction rather than directly adapting the follow-up.
Will there be more seasons?
Fans don’t have to worry about long waits between installments. Netflix has already confirmed a third season is in production. In a video shared by the streamer, Nikki, Ashby, and Noah revealed the renewal with the caption: ‘as if waiting for season 2 didn’t test my patience enough.... MY LIFE WITH THE WALTER BOYS: SEASON 3 is now in production!!’
Netflix’s Tudum later confirmed that season 3 is slated for release in 2026.
