An Emily in Paris director has tragically died while filming the latest series of the hit show.
Diego Borella, 47, was the assistant director for series five, which is being shot in Venice, and reportedly collapsed on the set as the crew were preparing to film the final scenes of the show on Thursday.
Emergency medics reportedly rushed to the scene at the Hotel Danieli at around 7pm, but were sadly unable to save him.
Unconfirmed reports in Italian media suggest the director died from a heart attack, but no formal cause of death has currently been announced. The Spanish newspaper El Mundo has reported that he passed away at 7.30pm on Thursday after resuscitation attempts failed.
In light of the tragedy, it's believed that filming on Emily in Paris has ground to a halt. The cast, including Lily Collins, has been on location in Venice since August 15 and were due to wrap up on Monday.
Diego was born in Venice but spent time in cities all over the world, including New York and London.
As well as his directing career, Diego was also an accomplished writer who had had a number of fairy tales, plays and haiku poems published.
Tributes have been pouring in for him, including from his friend Mattia Berto, who wrote: 'I have fond memories of Diego; he was a handsome, elegant boy with a lot of style.
'The last time we saw each other was at a dinner in Paris with his best friend and mine, whom I called on Thursday: she was devastated.
'Diego had a great sense of humour, was brilliant, and very talented. His is a young life cut short, so there aren't many words. Just great sadness. '
