There's no show like a Joe show, but Robbie Williams might just be a worthy contender for the crown.

As he prepares to take to the stage at Croke Park in Dublin on Saturday, fans are anticipating that Robbie might belt out a rendition of Good Looking Woman in tribute to the late singer and with good reason.

It turns out, Joe had been part of Robbie's life since he was a child.

Robbie's dad, Pete, an aspiring stand-up, met the Mullingar legend in Manchester in 1974 when he worked as his warm-up act, and they became lifelong pals.

Pete previously told The Sunday World how: 'Joe would come up to Stoke-on-Trent to play golf with me, and he stayed at my house.

'The first time he came, Rob was a few months old, and he was in his cot in his own room. We brought the cot out of the bedroom and into our room, and Joe slept in Rob's bedroom.'

During an appearance on the Late Late Robbie also spoke of how much his dad loved Joe and told a wild story of how they were driving back from the pub one night and his dad noticed a police car behind them.

He told Joe that if they were stopped, to let him do the talking, only for Joe to reply: 'I hope they know how to fight!'

Robbie was quick to add that he wasn't condoning drink driving but praised Joe, saying, 'That's a man!'

Joe and Pete were so close that he even recorded a posthumous duet of Good Looking Woman with the singer who died on St Stephen's Day in 2007, using cutting-edge technology in 2017.

As he announced his Croke Park gig, Robbie teased that he would perform the track if there was appetite for it, after previously performing it at his AVIVA gig.

Robbie said: 'Because of this story, this connection, outdoors at the Aviva, I did Good Looking Woman and it was so much fun.

'And when you do something like that, it's a little stunt, it's a tip of the hat, it's a ticking a box... but I would ask the people of Ireland, can I do it again?'
