How They Met: Niamh O'Sullivan and her hubby David's modern love story

Niamh O'Sullivan and her husband, David Butler, have been together for half a decade, and clearly things were meant to be.

The pair struck up a conversation on a dating app, but it was only when they met in person a number of years later that sparks flew between them.

Now, five years on, the couple have celebrated milestones together, and have just welcomed a little girl to the world. Here's everything we know about their relationship:

How they met

Niamh and David first met in a very modern way, on Hinge, in 2020.

The pair hit things off, but they didn't meet in person until years later. Speaking to One Fab Day, the influencer said: 'Our paths had crossed previously as we both went to NUIG. But the official intro didn’t happen until years later!'

In January 2023, Niamh announced that David had gotten down on bended knee and popped the question. At the time, she shared a sweet montage of videos of them telling their nearest and dearest that they had gotten engaged.

She captioned the video: 'If I’m dreaming, don’t wake me up!'

David surprised his other half with a romantic proposal before he and Niamh set about finding the perfect ring to symbolise their relationship, and her love of sustainability played a big part in their choice.

Showing off her three-stone ring, Niamh told her followers: 'I knew that I wanted to look at antique rings when we got engaged, but I had no idea what style I would lean towards.

'Traditionally a three stone ring represents a couples past, present and future - how perfect. This ring is from the 1920s and it was definitely a case of "when you know, you know!"'

Saying 'I do'

After attending many of their friends' nuptials over the years, it was finally Niamh and David's turn on April 26, 2024.

The lovebirds celebrated their wedding day at The Europe Hotel & Resort in Co Kerry. Niamh was a blushing bride in the most fabulous looking strapless gown with a full skirt and belted waist from De Stafford Bridal.

She wore her brown locks down and accessorised with a long veil and drop earrings.

Niamh wanted to make sure every little detail of her big day was perfect, and ahead of the ceremony, she revealed that she had splashed out on a pair of Jimmy Choo slingback kitten heels with pearl button details that retail for €695.

She also confirmed that she had purchased the Self Portrait Bow mini bag (€440) as her wedding clutch.

Niamh later swapped out her timeless princess-style gown for a more contemporary shift dress style with a square neckline and backless design.

Sharing a video montage of snippets from their big day, Niamh wrote: 'The best day of our lives. Thank you to our friends & family for celebrating us in the most magical way, it means more than we can even articulate and we will never forget it.'

Baby makes three

Niamh announced her pregnancy in February, gushing that it was a 'dream come true' that baby Butler would be arriving in the summer of 2025.

At the time, she shared an emotional video of her finding out she was pregnant, followed by a clip in which she told David the exciting news.

Nine months flashed before their eyes, and next thing they knew, their baby girl arrived Earthside in August.

Keeping their announcement short and sweet: 'She’s here & she’s perfect. our precious baby Isabelle.' And with that, a host of friends and family sent their words of congratulations.
