While many people opt to pop the question abroad, you can't beat an engagement celebration at home with friends and family, and this week, that's exactly what Clare Hurler, Aron Shanagher and fiancée Laura did.
Aron and Laura headed off to the Big Apple after the end of this year's hurling season to spend some quality time together, with Laura having no idea what Aron had in store.
The left-corner forward got down on one knee as the sun rose on the Brooklyn Bridge and asked that all-important question.

The couple, who have been together since 2019, had known each other from visiting the gym and on nights out.
Asking Laura to marry him at the start of their trip to New York, the couple spent the next few days celebrating their big news, and of course, it was only fitting to have a party when they came home.
Standing in front of a welcome sign, in one of their local venues, they posed for a picture and greeted their guests.

Testing out wearing white, Laura wore a cute little two-piece number that would be perfect for any bride-to-be celebrating their engagement.
Her corset-style bodice has structured boning, which highlights her figure, and has a curved neckline and dainty straps.
The skirt is high-waisted with a flared, A-line cut and has soft pleats throughout that generate volume, which complements the sleek top.
For any brides-to-be who are loving this look, you are in luck, as it is still available.

The top is from Brown Thomas, retailing at €176, in sizes extra small up to extra large.
While the skirt is not available in the same store, a similar one can be found Nevala for just €41.95.

Posting an array of shots on the night, Aron and Laura were overwhelmed by the support that friends and family showed.
Keeping the caption short and sweet she said: 'Overwhelmed with love,' followed by a white love heart emoji.
While a date hasn't been set yet, we can't wait to see what the couple have in store for their wedding day!
Congratulations Aron and Laura.
