The cobbles will never be the same! A long-time Coronation Street favourite has reportedly been given the chop after decades on the show.
Sally Ann Matthews who has played Jenny Connor on the soap for almost 40 years, is said to be devastated by the decision, and she's not the only one allegedly facing the axe.
It's believed that the actress might have sealed her fate after making a number of critical remarks about the show.

She expressed her dislike of being on location to fans in a Q&A session in 2024, and there were worrying signs of her departure when she was ousted as the landlady at The Rovers Return.
A source told The Sun: 'Sal's devastated by the decision. She was central to the soap for so long as Rover's landlady, but bosses wanted to go in another direction.'

They went on to point out her online rants as being unhelpful, but added that it was ultimately a story-led decision.
No details of Sally's exit have been revealed to date, but the insider has indicated that it will be 'something exciting.'
Sally Ann has been part of the show since 1986 and rejoined in 2006 in a run that was due to last months, but saw her become a permanent face on the show.
She made headlines in 2024 for, among other things, not being given any storylines and having large gaps in her appearances.

The Sun also reported that one in ten cast members are potentially facing losing their roles because of budget cuts.
