What a football season it has been with Michael Murphy coming out of retirement and putting back on the green and gold jersey.
In 2022, Michael announced his retirement after a 15-year senior career with inter-county football, which shocked many fans.
Considered one of the greatest players for the county and of his time, the 35-year-old later returned to the pitch and is now set to play in Sunday's All-Ireland final. But what's his life like off the pitch?

Popping the question
Before stepping away from his county team, Michael had another major event in his life at the beginning of 2022- he got engaged to his long-term girlfriend.
The GAA star got down on bended knee to ask the all-important question on Christmas Day and it was the last thing Annie Keeney was expecting.

The couple, who met in 2016, shared the lovely news alongside a very happy snap of her and her fiancé.
'He asked… I laughed and said “No way!?” A lovely Christmas Day surprise,' she wrote, informing her 14k followers of the happy news.
Married life

The couple, along with their family and friends, headed to one of the most romantic destinations in the world, Florence, Italy, in 2023 to say I Do.
Annie wore a beautiful strapless, short wedding dress with crepe underlay detail. The bride completed her look with an on-trend, long-stem bouquet.
Even though the pair headed off to a sunnier climate, the groom made sure he had a little piece of home incorporated on the day and wore a dark green blazer with light coloured chinos.
Life together

Speaking to RSVP in 2020, Michael said the couple's relationship works because they maintain their own interests. Certainly, Annie's life doesn't revolve around GAA like it does for him.
'She follows the games but she wouldn't be a mad Donegal supporter because she has her own interests and friends,' the All-Star told the publication.
'She obviously does come along to the games though to support the team and support the lads.'
Off the pitch

When he is not training, the full-forward is still surrounded by sports as he is the Head of Sports at Atlantic Technological University, Donegal. Michael also runs his own sports shop.
