While Maura Higgins rose to fame on the small screen, she's now got her sights set on the big screen after landing her first-ever movie role.
The Love Island star is among the cast of the Irish comedy The Spin, a film directed by Michael Head, which debuted at The Belfast Film Festival 2024 but is now coming to cinemas.
We had our first look at Maura, who has reprised her Love Island USA role ahead of appearing in The Traitors, in The Spin as character Rose when the first official trailer was released in October 2024.

In the clip, Maura was seen laying in bed while another showed her taking a deep breath before getting ready to shoot someone a text on her phone.
The trailer certainly got people excited, with one writing: 'This looks really good,' as another penned: 'Hope we can watch it soon!'

On Thursday, The Spin's writer Colin Broderick shared an update on the movie's cinema release and shared on Instagram that it'll be in Irish cinemas this October.
Colin added that opening night will be in Omagh on October 24... we wonder who from the film's cast, which includes former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and Derry Girls' star Tara Lynne O'Neill among others, will be there!

The film's director Michael Head previously shared the premise of the film, saying: 'A year back I directed a delightful fun little tale about two loveable idiots in Ireland.'

He explained it will be 'very different to my normal projects but full of heart and charm', adding he is 'delighted' that the film has sold out at the Belfast Film Festival.
We can't wait to see what Maura's acting debut has in store for us!
