Gwyneth Paltrow has been slammed as 'insufferable' and 'out of touch' following an admission she made in her new book about dating Brad Pitt.

The former couple dated for three years in the 1990s and even got engaged before they split in 1997 but now, a new biography about her life, Gwyneth: The Biography by Amy Odell has shed new light on the class difficulties in their relationship.

However, there was one line that made people so angry they 'felt bad' for Brad Pitt as the Goop founder admits that their 'different upbringings' meant she had to educate Brad on caviar in fancy restaurants.

According to People magazine, Gwyneth expressed doubts about her relationship to one crew member while filming Emma and admitted that she had a crush on Hugh Grant.

She also told an interviewer: 'Brad and I had very different upbringings. So when we go to restaurants and order caviar, I have to say to Brad, "This is beluga and this is osetra".''

The line shocked people and she was called a 'classist snob' and 'out of touch' in a Reddit discussion about the upcoming biography. One person wrote: 'I’m so mad she made me momentarily feel bad for Brad Pitt.'

Another said: 'I simply have no words. To be so out of touch with reality that you think that sentence is in any way relatable is astonishing.'

A third wrote: 'Classic classist snob with no taste, no humour. Please educate us more on the differences between caviar and keep preaching about how not to eat.'

One joked: 'He should've taken her to the garage and said, "Gwen, this is a wrench and this is a socket".'

However, some people admitted that the line made them want to read the book more, with one saying: 'This may be the greatest hate-read of all time. When does it come out?' and a second said: 'I want to hate her, but most of this is so out of touch that it's actually funny rather than offensive.'

The book also recalls their breakup in 1997, which neither Brad nor Gwyneth gave a 'concrete reason' for, but she told Howard Stern in 2015: 'I wasn’t ready, and he was too good for me.'

The new book Gwyneth: The Biography is out on July 29, and we can't wait to read more juicy details!
