Reese Witherspoon has been quietly dating financier Oliver Haarmann for more than a year, and judging by recent pictures, it’s clear she’s smitten.
This relationship is the mum-of-three's first known romance since her divorce from talent agent Jim Toth, which was finalised in 2023 after nearly 12 years of marriage.
While the 49-year-old has kept things low-key, paparazzi shots from their recent romantic yacht getaway in Saint-Tropez have sparked public interest and made everyone ask, 'Who is Oliver Haarman?'
Well, Oliver is a 57-year-old German-born private equity investor who co-founded Searchlight Capital Partners, a firm with investments across media, telecoms, and consumer sectors.
Not only that, he is also Harvard-educated and known for his discreet profile- no doubt he is just the kind of successful, low-drama presence that appeals to Reese after a lifetime in the spotlight.
A source told PEOPLE in October 2024: 'Reese loves that he’s a businessman and not into Hollywood.'
Just because the couple keeps a low profile doesn’t mean their relationship lacks glamour. First spotted together in July 2024, they were later seen dining at the upscale Italian restaurant L’Artusi in New York City, after having reportedly flown into the city by helicopter... casual!
Following their date, a source confirmed their relationship to PEOPLE, saying: 'She enjoys it but doesn't want it to be a big focus. She's busy with work and her son, these are her biggest priorities.'
A source also told the outlet in October 2024 that the actress was 'having fun with Oliver,' adding that the she 'often flies between Nashville and N.Y.C. to see him.'
'He's spending time with her kids too,' the source revealed at that time, sharing that Oliver had spent time with her children, Ava Phillippe, 25, Deacon Phillippe, 21, and Tennessee James Toth, 12, whom she shares with respective exes Ryan Phillippe and Jim Toth.
Like Reese, Oliver has a past marriage and shares two sons with his ex-wife, Mala Gaonkar. Aside from their children, the former couple also created the Surgo Foundation, a charity aimed at using data-driven solutions to improve global health outcomes alongside global health expert Sema Sgaier.
The couple has been spotted on a handful of low-profile outings, from dinners in Los Angeles to walks in European cities; however, there has been no red carpet debut, no social media post, and no official comment.
