Bláthnaid Treacy is having a dreamy pregnancy with her second child, and the RTÉ presenter wants to keep it that way after they welcome the little one.
The soon-to-be mum-of-two won't make the same mistake that she made when her little girl Nancy was born, as she wants to revel in those first few weeks with her newborn, and use the opportunity to hang out with her two-year-old.
Bláthnaid barely took a break from work when she welcomed Nancy with her husband, Charlie Moon, in 2023. The 2FM host went on a blink-and-you-will-miss-it two-month maternity leave before she was back on the airwaves.

The Bray woman told EVOKE that she won't be doing the same second time around. 'I only took eight weeks, so that was crazy. I won't be doing that again! I'm going to take the full six months this time, I won't take the nine months though.'
'I was talking to Lottie Ryan about going back to work after your first kid, it can be a thing where you put a lot of pressure on yourself,' she said.

She wasn't the only new mum in the notoriously tough business of broadcast journalism to feel the pressure. Dancing With The Stars host Jennifer Zamperelli followed a similar pattern, taking a short maternity leave with her oldest child, Florence.
However, Bláthnaid has learned from her past mistakes and realises that taking some time off with her little ones is well deserved, and something she is really looking forward to.
'This time I'm like "No babe, take all the time, and enjoy the six months,' she told us. 'Work will always be there.'
Bláthnaid is more than ready to relish in free time at home with Nancy and her newborn, who is due in November.

'I'm so excited for my little newborn bubble at Christmas time. I just can't wait to hibernate over the winter and just have a little snuggly time, and I think I'm gonna appreciate that time a little bit more now because I know how quickly it goes,' she explained.
Despite her plans to take a break this winter, Bláthnaid is still working hard throughout her pregnancy and has even started up a new podcast, called The Triple Effect.
While the star knows having two kids under three will be tough at times, she is definitely up for the challenge.
'I actually am really excited about it,' Bláthnaid said, though she joked that those may be her 'famous last words.'

'It's gonna be it'll be full on, but plenty of people have done the same thing. I kind of feel I've done it once, and I sort of know what I'm doing now,' she said.
It helps that Nancy is a very gentle little girl who loves all things 'cute', so all signs point towards her being a doting big sister to her new sibling.
'She just turned two, so she doesn't really get it, but she knows that there's a baby in mammy's tummy. She's sort of getting her head around it.'

'She's a very sociable little kid, she's obsessed with our dog, Mabel, though Mabel's not so obsessed with her,' the proud mum laughed. 'She's into little cute things, so we kind of keep saying there's a little cute baby in mummy's tummy, so we're trying to get her excited about that.'
The only problem that the Treacy-Moon family has bumped into so far is that they don't have a name for the baby yet.

'We are absolutely stumped. We cannot think of a name, it's so weird,' the radio presenter explained. 'Charlie comes up with loads, and I'm like "nah, don't like it."'
'It's so bizarre, you know, we had Nancy for years, even before we were married, and we just never thought of another name ever again,' Bláthnaid confessed. 'We've been kind of onto the family asking for inspiration.'
She joked that it may even come down to asking her listeners for suggestions!
2FM Breakfast with Bláthnaid Treacy airs on Saturdays and Sundays from 7am to 9am.
