Jess Redden opened up about a frightening bout of illness she experienced last week, and the emotional toll it took on her as an expectant mother.
The pharmacist, 31, and her husband Rob Kearney are expecting their second child together but admitted that she recently 'freaked out' after she stopped feeling the baby move.
In a candid update shared with followers, Jess described the flu-like symptoms that hit her hard just days earlier that included vomiting, body aches, fever, sore throat, and exhaustion, saying she spent all of Friday completely bedridden.

'Even walking up the stairs, I was so out of breath,' she admitted, but it wasn’t just the physical discomfort that left her shaken, it was the anxiety around how the illness might affect her baby.
'Obviously I was freaking out about the baby as well,' she shared. 'Because when you're sick, I don't know, your mind just starts spiralling.'

Although she reassured herself that it was still too early to feel regular movements, the absence of those familiar flutters caused real panic. 'I didn't feel anything, so I was just freaking myself out so much,' she said.
Thankfully, by the weekend Jess was beginning to feel more like herself again - and most importantly she felt the baby move again. 'Yesterday and today I felt all the little flutters and kicks again,' she said.

Jess, who is five months along, recently opened up about how this pregnancy has been very different 'mentally' for her after she suffered an early miscarriage before getting pregnant again - but having an almost two-year-old toddler keeps her occupied!
Speaking during a pregnancy Q&A, Jess opened up about feelings of anxiety and apprehension, saying: 'This pregnancy has been so different mentally.

'I'm definitely more anxious, even though I was so anxious with [Bobby], this time it's even worse, maybe because you know how precious they are or having experienced early loss before this one, but having Bobby is a blessing because it keeps my mind busy!!'
