Damian McGinty and Anna Claire Sneed are such a dotey couple.
While the couple has gone from strength to strength in recent years, the funny anecdote about how they met shows that they weren't always so sweet on each other, although it does also prove that if you're meant to be, you're meant to be.
After winning The Glee Project some might say that fate led Damian over to the US where he ultimately fell head over heels for Anna Claire - who was studying and making her way as an actress.
How did they meet?
After heading Stateside post The Glee Project to actually star in the hit show Glee, Damian found himself in Los Angeles, California, where he jokingly says he met some 'weird and dodgy people'.
Finally, he fell into step with a friend group who'd go on to be lifelong companions. Simultaneously, Anna Claire began spending her summers in LA too, where she'd audition for TV and film roles as an actress - she's been in NCIS, Scorpion, and a few other projects.
She too found her feet with some good solid friends - the same group that Damian had become a part of, in fact. Ultimately, Anna Claire moved to LA full-time, but there was a catch.
'For the first year she didn't like me at all', Damian said with a laugh but admitted 'it got better' and finally the pair were dating.
Popping the question
Striving to keep some things in their life private, the couple had something of a secret engagement in June 2018.
Anna Claire shared the great news on Instagram at the time by posting an adorable, traditional engagement style ring-selfie, snuggled up close to Damian.
The caption read: 'I have never cried so many happy tears!!!!! My heart truly could explode any second!!!! Best day of my life so far because I know I will be marrying you!!!!!".
Similarly, Damian made a Facebook post that announced the happy news. He shared: 'Update-We have been engaged for a week and mostly watched 13 reasons why with a little exercise (+ tacos) in between. I like it.'
Saying 'I do'
A year later, on the 1st of June 2019, they tied the knot in Memphis, Tennessee among their nearest and dearest loved ones. Classic and chic, Anna Claire wore a fabulous, lacy gown while Damian kept it slick in a black suit with a black dickie-bow.
They shared clips from their big day to Damian's YouTube channel, where they were seen to be smiling and laughing all day long.
Anna Claire said: 'My heart is so full of the biggest love for you. I adore and cherish every piece of you and I'm so blessed to be able to do that for the rest of my life'. In Damian's speech, he expressed: 'You are my very best friend and my love. Let's do this monkey.'
Talking of YouTube, the pair sometimes dabble in music together and even posted a cover of Taylor Swift's Exile which has over 47 thousand views. Anna Claire has also starred in one of Damian's music videos Like Moments Do - how adorable!
Damian and Anna Claire marked their sixth wedding anniversary in 2025, with Anna Claire marking the special day with a throwback snap to their wedding.
'Happy anniversary to my favourite person in the world. I thank God every day for our life together,' she wrote alongside the pic.
Finding their fur baby
In 2022, Damian and Anna Claire expanded their family by bringing the most gorgeous little baby into their life - a beautiful, golden labrador called Puddles.
In fact, his full title is Puddlington Patrick McGinty. Anna Claire has documented Puddles journey into puppy-hood through her Instagram, where we've followed along keenly - c'mon, just look at those eyes.
Dancing With The Stars
Although being based in Nashville due to career opportunities, Damian previously told EVOKE that he's keen to split his time a little more between the U.S. and his home country, Ireland.
He said in 2023: 'I would like to spend a lot more time in Ireland. Last summer I was having conversations with my wife, with my family, with my friends just being like listen, I would love to, I would love to even it out a bit more.'
Luckily, as though it were divine timing, Damian was then approached to take part in the Irish Dancing With The Stars.
When he broached the idea with his wife originally, he was surprised that she was so enthusiastic, 'I didn't think that was going to be her reaction'. That's when they decided to go for it - they moved the entire family, including Puddles, to Ireland.
Growing their family
2023 might have been a big year for the couple but 2024 was even more exciting as they welcomed their first child, Daisy June.
Daisy was born on March 10, with Damian announcing her birth by sharing a slew of adorable photos.
He said: 'Welcome to the world Daisy June McGinty, born 10th at 7.04 pm. You are perfect beyond words and your mother and I love you so, so much. Also, Anna - I have truly never loved you more.'
