Jonathan Rhys Meyers and his wife Mara Lane have been quietly separated for the past three years.
In a short and sweet statement shared on Instagram, Mara said: 'Almost three years since J and I separated and it’s been a journey of clearing debris – both physically and emotionally. Thankful and excited for us both and what future holds.'
The former couple clearly parted ways amicably as Mara, who wed Jonathan in 2016, shared another reel of her ex, writing: 'J also cleared his land, and he’s coming up on a year of sobriety this summer. Wolf is so happy and proud of you.'

'Your resilience and determination are inspiring and ready to take on new opportunities and roles and make even greater impact on world. Keep going. You’re awesome,' Mara continued.
The last time Jonathan cropped up on Mara's Instagram account was in 2021.

Jonathan and Mara first met in 2013, but made the executive decision to keep their relationship out of the limelight as much as was possible.
Jonathan, who hails from Co Cork, got down on one knee one year after they began dating, and the couple went on to tie the knot in 2016.
It wasn't long until the couple grew their family, as they welcomed their son Wolf to the world on December 15, 2016.
In 2017, Mara revealed she had miscarried her and Jonathan's second child. At the time, she shared a clip of the moment they found out that the foetus had no heartbeat.

'We will try to be more transparent on our journey as I see it may be helpful for others as well as ourselves.
'We don’t have to carry the weight of the world ourselves. We can help lift one another up,' she wrote at the time,' she told her followers.

While her husband has a tendency to make headlines, Mara is no stranger to the showbiz world herself.
She's an actress and producer in her own right. Mara made her debut as an extra in 2005 before starring in shows like Love Struck and Modern Music.
