Is there any end to Rachael Blackmore's talents? Not likely, it she's just added another string to her bow as a children's author.
Not content with being the first woman to win The Lennox Grand National, the history-making jockey revealed that she was secretly been working on a book behind the scenes for the past three years.
Now, we finally get to see Rachael's finished product as her new children's book Granny National was published on May 8.

The 35-year-old jockey took to social media to show a pic of her book out on shelves, where it entered the children's charts in Eason's at number one, as she jokingly penned: 'Available now in all good and bad bookshops.'
Her publishers, Penguin Books Ireland wrote: 'Happy publication day to Granny National - a wildly fun story for young readers from Irish jockey Rachael Blackmore, co-written with Rachel Pierce!'

Rachael drew on her experience on the race course to write the plot which sees a young girl, Rachael, try to help her Granny live her lifelong dream of becoming a jockey.
Earlier this year, she proudly showed off an early edition of Granny National in a sweet photo of her standing in a stables with her horse, who is very absorbed in the book.

Rachael wrote: 'After three years, it's finally finished.... GRANNY NATIONAL!
'My first children's book is a story about a Granny, her dream of being a jockey and her four friends who hatch a plan to try to make it happen. I hope it's enjoyed by children and Grannys from all over!'
Her fans were thrilled to see her latest career jump, including Olympian Rhasidat Adeleke who cheered her on saying, 'Love this!'

Elsewhere, someone else wrote: 'This big child can't wait to read this' while another remarked: 'A lady of many talents.'
Granny National is out now in bookshops in Ireland.
