Nicky Byrne and Georgina Ahern have been happily married for 22 years and they've come a long way in those two decades; in fact, she was his first-ever love!
While the pair are now Irish showbiz royalty, their beginnings were a lot more humble as they met long before Nicky's Westlife fame or Georgina's father Bertie's election to Taoiseach.
Their romance began when they were teenagers, first meeting in secondary school. While the pair first met when they were just 12, it was not until they were 15 that love officially blossomed.
How they met
Nicky and Georgina first met when they were 12 years old in secondary school at Pobalscoil Neasain in Baldoyle, North Dublin in 1991.
'We were in the same school and we had some classes together, that's how we met, and then one day one of my friends said "do you want to meet him?" and I said "yeah that would be great" that's how it all happened,' Georgina previously told EVOKE. 'I was a child then! I was only 15 then, I was in transition year, I was young! Life goes fast.'
When asked if she ever thought she would end up married to Nicky and end up having three kids with him, Georgina said she didn't exactly think that far ahead.
'I suppose it would have been part of my dreams but you kind of just keep going, you go with the flow.'
Tying the knot
After nearly a decade together, Nicky and Georgina tied the knot in Wicklow Register Office before jetting off to France for a lavish showbiz wedding at Château d'Esclimont on August 9, 2003.
The couple said 'I do' in front of his Westlife bandmates, Girls Aloud's Kimberly Walsh and Nadine Coyle, Ronan Keating and Yvonne Connolly and many more well-known faces.
Starting their family

Nicky and Georgina started their family in 2007, welcoming twin sons Jay and Rocco to the world. They couple went on to welcome their baby girl Gia in October 2013.
The couple often share family updates on social media, with the boys celebrating their milestone 18th birthday in April 2025... and they're beginning to pass him out!

Renewing their vows
To celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary, Nicky and Georgina renewed their vows in August 2023.
The couple set up a romantic marquee in their own back garden, complete with a beautiful pink flower wall and and inflatable bride and groom and promised to keep loving and honouring each other as they have done for the past two decades.
Sharing snaps from their romantic do, Nicky wrote: 'Summer House Party and we tied the knot again!! #VowRenewal #Family&Friends #GreatFun #20YearsOn.'
