Rhys McClenaghan has been one of the favourites to win Dancing With The Stars 2025 from the get-go but even he needs a night off every now and then.

The Irish Olympian took time out from his dance training to attend the 2024 Gymnastic Ireland National Awards recently and he had the two most important women in his life supporting him.

Rhys was all smiles in pictures from the night and little wonder as it proved to be one to remember.

The athlete was somewhat unsurprisingly awarded the title of Gymnast of the Year 2024 after his incredible performance at the Olympic Games in Paris.

The win was the seventh year in a row that Rhys has claimed the title. Supporting him on the night was mum Tracy who became emotional as he claimed his Olympic medal in August and praised his years of dedication to the sport.

'People often say "It's four years of hard work to get to an Olympics" but Rhys has been working for this day since he was eight. It's been a lifetime's dedication and sacrifice from him just to get to this one moment. We couldn't be happier for him, really. He has nerves of steel,' she told RTÉ at the time.

Her pride in his more recent achievement was evident as she posed with him at the gymnast awards.

Also stepping out for his big moment was his girlfriend Emilee Carr who hails from Down and is a gymnast champ for Ireland Northern Ireland.

She was looking glam on the night in an off-the-shoulder black tie dress with contrasting white bardot detailing around the shoulders.

Dorothy Perkins has a similar style dress for a star buy price of around €40. See more here.

She accesorised her flattering look with a flash of red lipstick and wore her hair pulled back from her face.

'Celebrating the successful year of 2024 with @gymnasticsire family. It was one to remember,' Rhys wrote alongside the photos.
