Actress Yasmin Seky is poised to twinkle her toes this Sunday on the upcoming series of Dancing With The Stars.
While the star of gritty crime drama Kin says that admits she has a grand total of zero dance experience, she is nonetheless enthralled with the sparklier side of the show.
‘I’m like, learning how to walk! Like “left, right, left, right, left, right”. So no, I have zero dance experience at all,’ Yasmin told Styled.

Two left feet aside, Yasmin - who'll be partnered with pro Simone Arena - is looking forward to the razzmatazz.
‘When it comes to fashion and style, if there's anything that I do like it’s shoes, handbags and all that glam.
‘So hair extensions, eyelashes, makeup, all that sort of stuff. I'm 100% behind.
‘The more sparkly, the better.’

And in terms of lighting up in style on the shiny dance floor, Yasmin takes inspiration from Hollywood starlet Zendaya who made a massive splash in 2017’s big-budget musical movie The Greatest Showman.
‘I really like Zendaya because she’s very sleek, minimalist, and it just fits her so nicely. So I love that,’ Yasmin told Styled.
‘And then I love Kim Kardashian, because she’s just glam, high glam, and that's every bit of me.’

Of her personal style, for Yasmin it’s a case of you’re never fully dressed without a pair of high heels.
‘I’m a heels girl through and through,’ says Yasmin.
‘Like, I don't know what the crack is nowadays, people wearing baggy jeans and runners at night. That's just not me. Get a skirt on, get a pair of heels on and get it on,’ she laughs.
But the glam gal is certainly not opposed to getting her hands dirty. An avid gardener, Yasmin is gearing up to launch her own how-to-garden guide.

And during the summertime she loves nothing more than pottering around her plants in a simple vest and jeans.
‘For me it’s comfort over everything. I wouldn't say that I follow trends.
‘I just wear whatever I have, whatever is comfortable and whatever I think looks nice.
‘In the summertime I love a good vest and a pair of jeans.’
So as she prepares to take her first spin on the dancefloor this Sunday, Yasmin says she has the support of three special people willing her on; her boyfriend Luke and her two adorable rescue pooches.

‘My boyfriend is very, very supportive. He sees me when I come home and I'm all tired.
‘He looks after me, and I think he's excited to actually see me do the show.
‘He's sitting across from me here now. He’s been very, very supportive.
‘And, yeah, I think he's just waiting to see all the hard work kind of manifest on the screen.’
And he’s certainly not alone.
STYLE NOTES
1. Burgundy is the new black

As the dismal winter months continue, burgundy is the perfect hue to make a stylish statement without being overly loud. This deep rich-red hue exudes warmth, sophistication, and an understated elegance.
Its rich, wine-like hue complements a variety of skin tones and can be effortlessly paired with neutral colours like black, white, and beige, or even contrasting shades like mustard yellow, forest green, and navy.
Whether incorporated through accessories or as a statement piece, burgundy is the perfect way to elevate your winter wardrobe.
2. Steal Sienna’s style

Sienna Miller's collaboration with Marks & Spencer has proved a match made in high-street heaven.
The Hollywood starlet’s debut range provided fashion followers the chance to get a grown-up spin on the noughties boho queen’s signature look.
For her second collection, Sienna has drawn inspiration from her personal archive of timeless party-wear looks.
The eclectic 35-piece party edit pays homage to decadent glamour with an ornate flourish of statement prints, embellishments and faux-fur accessories.
Featuring fluid silhouettes, rich textures, and vintage-inspired pieces, this affordable collection is a reflection of some of Sienna’s most iconic designer looks - and not one to be missed.
3. Dance your cares away

It’s far too easy and all too understandable to hibernate in the baggiest of comfy clothes after the seasonal excesses.
But there is something to be said for getting your glad rags on again. Even if for one night only.
With funds tight this doesn’t mean going out on the town. Step into your dancing shoes, put on some glitter and make-up and host a Dancing With The Stars party in your living room and get inspired by all the glitz and glam.
4. Brooch yourself

Wearing a brooch may hitherto have been considered something for the golden oldies.
But pinning a brooch to the lapel of a jacket will add that little “Je ne sais quoi" to any outfit.
