A couple tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident in Dublin on St Stephen's Day has been named locally as friends and family pay tribute to 'the nicest people you could meet.'
Forty-year-old Anthony Hogg and his wife Georgina Hogg Moore, 39 were fatally struck by a car while attempting to cross the road in the early evening.
The incident occurred around 5.45 pm on Thursday, close to the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre and saw the driver leave the area where the collision occurred.

Georgina was pronounced dead at the scene while Anthony was rushed to hospital but medical staff were unable to save his life and he passed overnight.
The couple has several children and lived close by in the Whitestown area. Two other pedestrians were also at the scene but were uninjured.
The car thought to have been involved in the collision was found a short time later and has now been taken for forensic examination.

Those closest to Georgina and Anthony have been sharing their condolences while her sister Katie pledged to always look after their children.
In a heartbreaking message, she wrote: 'I'll always mind your babies, absolutely heartbroken.'
Another wrote: 'Georgina and Anto will be missed so very much by so many people. May they rest in eternal blessed peace. Such an awful shock.

A third wrote that the accident was 'so devastating, they were the nicest people you could meet.'
At around 10.30 pm on Thursday, the driver of an Audi A7 handed himself into Blanchardstown Garda Station where he was subsequently arrested.
The man reported to be in his mid-40s, is currently being quizzed over the incident and can be held for up to 24 hours under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The scene where the deaths occurred has now also undergone a technical examination by the Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaà have stated that they don't believe at this stage that Anthony and Georgina were initially attacked and are focusing their investigation on dangerous driving as the primary means for the crash.
They have appealed to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident to contact them.
