A barrister has given their hilarious insight into every single law that was broken in Home Alone 2... and unsurprisingly there are lots!
Popular Twitter account The Secret Barrister broke down all the crimes committed according to English and Welsh law in 2018 and it makes for funny reading.
In the sequel, Kevin McAllister boards the wrong plane and ends up alone in New York City, where he is once again pursued by the 'Sticky Bandits', Marv and Harry.

In his thread, the barrister said that Kevin could end up in a young offenders institution for what he did during his time in New York, while Marv and Harry could be put behind bars for life!
Even his parents would be serving time, they would be spending eight months in jail for child neglect.

The first offence takes place within minutes of the film, when Kevin records Uncle Frank in the shower - an act of voyeurism.
Things then continue to get worse. 'It's the choir scene. Buzz is humiliating Kevin and all the parents are lapping it up. The sickos. Kevin responds with a s39 battery on his big brother. Strike 2.
'Pianist is caught in the crossfire. Issue over causation, but let’s add a s47 ABH to the indictment,' The Secret Barrister wrote.
By this point in the film, the ball is really rolling and other crimes including treason, sexual assault, fraud and corruption are committed.

This lecture explores the Christmas classic 'Home Alone 2' through the lens of English and Welsh law.
Contributions and observations are welcome, but I'm perfectly prepared to tweet the entire film to a wall of embarrassed silence.
The Secret Barrister continued: 'The Sticky Bandits are conspiring to commit a commercial burglary. Max sentence 10 years.'
'That’s right. Even £millions from a children’s toy store on Christmas Eve. If you’re going to commit an acquisitive offence, this is the one. On an early guilty plea, that’s 6.66 yrs.'

Oh and that's not all, as there was child abduction, GBH, and arson with intent to endanger life.
Even the bird lady could end up in jail (gasp!) under the Vagrancy Act 1824.
We'll never watch this film the same way again...
