It's that time of year again! Even as adults, it's exciting to sit back and watch the delightful chaos unfold on the Late Late Toy Show and very often you find yourself sobbing as much as crying laughing.

The Toy Show has become, for many, the moment Christmas really begins and it's a chance for the whole family young and old to spend time together.

Can you believe the show has been going since the toy segment first aired in 1974? So yes, needless to say there's something magical about the formula, and there are thoughts we all have every year without fail while watching it. Here they are...

1. I would kill for a Toy Show ticket

Forget Taylor Swift tickets (cry) - a pass to see the Toy Show is the ticket you really want. But alas, they're like gold dust with applications made online and then lucky people being selected at random.

Landing tickets for this Christmas spectacle, complete with plenty of 'one for everyone in the audience' perks, is at the top of the list.

2. How did they manage to get him in that costume?

Every year there is a different theme and every year Ryan Tubridy - well, Patrick Kielty now - gets dressed up as something joyfully ridiculous.

Now, Christmas jumpers aside, how did they manage to convince Ryan over and over again to ditch his dignity? What a good sport he was and we're sure Patrick will be just the same on Friday night.

3. Are these children all on a sugar high?

The children on the Toy Show are full of beans even though it's so late at night. They're on the telly, they get to play with toys and it's past their bedtime so naturally, there's a bit of excitement.

But we still have to ask, how much sugar was within their reach in the RTÉ dressing rooms to keep them going? Their enthusiasm makes it all the more entertaining a watch.

4. Here comes the farmer...

There's always one child on The Toy Show that is a 50-year-old farmer trapped in a six-year-old's body.

Such is the maturity of these children that they can educate us as to the mechanical workings of tractors, whether there'll be a good harvest next year and who looks set to be the Junior B players to watch for the year ahead, all at once.

5. Typical, the toy is broken!

A poor child is trying to show us this super cool new toy that was working just fine in rehearsals but, of course, it won't work when the cameras are rolling. It'll probably get a kick across the floor, much to the child's horror.

6. And the microphone's not working...

So this toy talks and of course everyone wants to hear what the furry little thing has to say! But in true Toy Show style, the microphone isn't working...

7. This child is too smart for their own good

Every year there's a child on the Toy Show who is basically a genius and the audience doesn't know what to make of them.

We honestly aren't able for a seven-year-old who is smarter than us. Please let us gorge and giggle in peace without having to reflect on every life decision that has led us to this very moment.

8. Are those innuendos really going over the children's heads...

'Oh now! That one was very bold!' We're waiting for the day one street smart kid calls Ryan out on his jokes for mammy and daddy. The children of today aren't as innocent as we were in the days of yore before the internet.

9. The Toy Show is the best form of birth control

The maternity wards will be dead nine months after the Toy Show because no one in their right mind would want to have a child after watching all that chaos.

They should show this in all secondary schools as part of sex education curriculum. Yes, picking out baby clothes is cute, but can you deal with the two decades of chaos that follows and is best illustrated by the hyper Toy Show participants?

10. I can't wait until next year's show!

The Toy Show is finally over and you've just watched a handful of children wreck your head and warm your heart. Now, when can we see the Late Late Toy Show?
