There are lots of Irish things that baffled the world but there's one in particular that had Vogue Williams' husband Spencer Matthews racking his brain.
During a past episode of their podcast, Vogue casually used a slang term that had Spencer asking for clarification on whether it was an 'Irish thing' to say.
In the clip, which was shared on Vogue's Instagram at the time, she can be heard teasing her hubby about when he tried to show 'affection' towards her by 'rubbing noses' in the presence of a waitress.
'We're out for lunch and Spencer's sitting beside me and I'm sitting there and I'm ordering food off the waitress who's kind of on her hunkers beside us,' Vogue recalled.
'Hunkers?' Spencer, who recently completed a mammoth challenge for charity, quickly interrupted. 'Knees,' Vogue told him, 'hunkering down.'

'Why not just say knees then,?' a confused Spencer asked with amused Vogue explaining the difference saying 'she's not on her knees, she's on her hunkers.'
'Is that an Irish thing?' Spencer asked. Vogue, eager to continue with her story cut him off as she said didn't know whether or not it was an Irish thing to say.
The presenter, who previously revealed her Irish accent was rubbing off on her English husband, finished off the story and told how Spencer tried to 'loop' his head around the waitress to touch noses at the same time she was trying to give her order.

Spencer told his other half that the whole situation could have been resolved if she had just done as he had asked but Vogue told him he had to understand that his actions weren't 'normal behaviour.'
So, what do you think? Is 'hunkers' an Irish thing?
