Country music star Nathan Carter and Saturdays singer Una Healy have recorded a duet that is set to be a Christmas country-and-pop cracker.
The Wagon Wheel singer, 34, revealed he has joined forces with the Tipperary singer for an upbeat recording of Cliff Richard's 1988 Christmas No1, Mistletoe and Wine.
'I'm releasing a new Christmas album. It's called Crazy Christmas and it's out on November 16. So I'm pretty excited about that.' Liverpudlian Nathan told the Irish Mail on Sunday from his adopted home of Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh.
'There are a couple of originals on it and then the rest of the album is classic Christmas covers that people know and love.
'I've recorded a duet on the album with Una. We've recorded a cover of Mistletoe and Wine.'
While the song marks the first time Carter and Healy have sung together, they have known each other for many years.
'I had a show on RTÉ a few years ago on a Sunday night, and Una was one of the guests on the show,' the 34-year-old singer said.
The song will no doubt air when he is Carter appears on the Late Late Show.
He is an old friend of host Patrick Kielty and he reckons the viewing public still haven't seen the best of the Co. Down presenter and comedian yet.
'I'm scheduled to do The Late Late Show in December. I'm pretty excited about going on it because it's kind of like gas, because I actually interviewed Patrick years ago.
'I think it was about eight or maybe nine years ago and I had my own show on BBC... and I was doing a St Patrick's Day special and I had Patrick on and he was just so funny. I think he is doing a really, really terrific job on the Late Late. He's just such a nice guy. It's a massive show to carry and he's doing great, I just think the public has yet to see the best of him, and just how funny and truly entertaining he is.'
Carter has also just launched his debut line in men's attire, Carter Clothing.
'To be honest, I wasn't really into fashion that much before but I am now. So it's great to see my first collection for real.'
To help launch the brand, Carter was joined by his younger brother Jake and his Dancing with the Stars professional partner Karen Byrne at the Lough Erne Resort in Enniskillen on Thursday night.
