Most artists have to go through setbacks before they can catch a break and make it big but that doesn't make the tough times any easier when you're in them.
Actor and playwright Georgie Grier learned this on Thursday when just one person showed up to watch her her play at Edinburgh Fringe.
Georgie shared a photo of herself crying, with the words: 'There was one person in my audience today when I performed my one-woman play, Sunsets, at #edfringe. It’s fine, isn’t it? It’s fine…?'
Her post soon went viral with several big-name comedians rallying around Georgie to show their support including Sarah Millican, Jason Manford and Dara Ó Briain who shared their own experiences with small crowds.

Dara replied: 'We’ve ALL done it. Soon, you’ll dine out on this anecdote. More than once I had to buy my audience a drink, as a thank you for being the only ones there.
'Best thing though, it’s all stage time, and the show will get better every single time, ready for the big crowds later!'
Jason replied with a video message, in which he said: 'It’s absolutely normal… for one person to rock up to your show, especially at the beginning of Edinburgh, and also for you to be a bit upset or annoyed or pissed off about it.'
He told Georgie that 'tomorrow will be better and next week will be better… so just enjoy yourself, if you can.'

Sarah Millican replied to Georgie’s tweet, saying: ‘Totally fine. And normal. Dara is right. Well done on having the bottle to do it. Feel proud x’
Georgie also received a message from the one person who did turn up for her show, fellow Edinburgh Fringe debutante Sophie Craig.

Sophie tweeted: 'I was that one person in the lovely Georgie Grier's audience. We had a lovely hug at the end and she was so professional and brave and she gave me everything. You should be so proud angel! Thank YOU! Now go get em girl'.
On Friday, festival-goers came out in force to show their support for Georgie and Sunsets with people queuing out the door until she played to a packed house.

Around 32 of the 40 available seats for her play were sold for £11 each.
Addressing the packed room, Georgie smiled and started things off with a joke as she said, 'Hello Wembley,' before beginning her performance.

Telling a little more about why she decided to tweet about her show, Georgie explained that she only put it on social media because she didn’t want to worry her mum by calling in tears.
According to MailOnline, she said: 'I did not expect the level of reaction I've had it's been so lovely, so unexpected, so many words for what I have experienced. I am so appreciative of what I have experienced.
‘She added: 'I just wanted someone to vent to who wasn't my mum. In that moment I had tears in my eyes, I wasn't thinking anything further than needing a bit of a release and not having to bother my mum, my dad and my sister.'
