Rachel Stevens' ex, Hollyoaks actor Jeremy Edwards, has opened up about feeling conflicted about his relationship with the S Club star over whether or not she cheated on him after news of her reported new relationship.

Months after splitting from her husband Alex Bourne ahead of their 13th wedding anniversary, a new romance has reportedly bloomed for the singer who is said to be 'smitten' with her former Dancing On Ice dance partner, Brendyn Hatfield.

The timeline of the alleged new relationship has got Jeremy questioning Rachel's fidelity during their relationship, wherein the pair were engaged to be married between 2002 and 2003.

The news of Rachel's potential new partnership has resurrected some of Jeremy's memories and feelings about their relationship, telling The Sun: 'I’ve thought about it more, I’ve thought about our relationship, and I think she did have a fling.'

Reflecting on some of the deep conversations they shared that started 'alarm bells ringing' in hindsight, Jeremy details that Rachel once 'admitted' that she 'had a fling with someone she worked with' while she was allegedly in a relationship.

While he explains that Rachel went to dinner with a photographer while they were apart, he says the relationship continued regardless and that before long, the pair were engaged.

When the engagement was called off, Jeremy cites that reports claimed it was due to his 'issues with drink' but that in reality, he says: 'I broke up with Rachel because I didn’t trust her.'

However, he does acknowledge 'I would never in a million years have thought she would do something like this' and claims that he acted poorly when the pair broke up.

According to Jeremy, he ended the relationship on New Year's Eve by saying 'vitriolic stuff' on the car journey home from a friend's party.

He said that they went to her house the next day and sat down and talked like 'grown-ups'.

A spokesman for the British singer told The Sun that the allegations are 'absolute lies'.
